and right now they are. They have opposing thumbs and can make circles. They can
unite and form communities they can ignore, deny, or find some rationalization
(anything at all will do) to explain anything. A better one may present itself as more
evidence is considered.

Dinosaurs used to be the most dangerous, and they found gigantic skulls on mars, so they might be the most dangerous things in that world, but now, humans are, sinse the dinosaurs and creatures on mars have died.

Because we are Homo Sapiens "thinking man". We can think, animals can not. We use objects of destruction that man has created. Animals can only use the instinct that is built into them. We are the higher food chain after all.
