With over 45 million Americans without health insurance, the answer is yes. Instead of the constantly bankrupting Canadian model we should look at, we should use the Europeans' system instead. Nationalized health care is what we desperately needed. Clinton tried that years ago with no success. It's time for the health insurance industry to just get out of the way of this progress.

I think you need to do some real research and see if we have higher standards than the rest of the world. I work with people who have moved here from other countries, England, Canada, and Germany all of them say that our system is better because we you don't have to wait months for major surgerys.
I believe that we need some major reform and that we need to make sure that we do cover healthcare needs from American Citizens (not illigal aliens) but getting the govenment to take care of any program never benifits anyone.
Here is what should happen
1. Make the losers of medical lawsuits pay the legal fees of the winner (all of them)
2. Stop requiring hospitals give any services to Illegal aliens
3. Close down all VA hospitals and purchase private 100% paid plans from private industry.
4. Overhall Medicare so that providers do not have to lie to the govenment to get the money that is fair for the services rendered

Sure if you are all for socialism. There is no such thing as free nationalized healthcare ie..,what canada and the Uk have. Why do you think taxes are so high in these countries?Do you want someone to tell you when and how often you can go to the doctor?Isnt it time American grew up and be responsible for themselves and not depending of another government program? No one is responsible for my well being but me.Again you leftists want another freebie from the government.Social welfare you guys are always for that and yet wonder why people are lazy.Get a job and work and pay your bills..,its called responsibility.

Excellent Question!
If Canada can do it, then the USA can do it also. I have faith that even we can provide universal health care.
Christ would say that it's Christian to provide health care to everyone, not just the rich.
If you're a Christian, you support universal health care. If on the other hand, someone says that "There aint no way I'm paying for someone else to see a doctor", then that person is not a Christian. It's really an easy litmus test for determining if someone is truly Christian. Go ahead and give it a try.

We don't mind a national health care, but we sure don't want to pay for it. I can't believe anyone would want to allow any government to provide any type of service such as health care. Just look at the VA, or ask a Canadian and you will get your answer. How about a tax break for buying your policy. If you want the inefficiency and corruption of socialized medicine than you should move to a country that provides it.

Yes and No. On the one hand people should take care of them selves and not depend on the government to do it for them.
On the other hand the cost of private insurance is outrageous. Im a healthy 26 year old non smoker and a personal health insurance policy,(not through my job privately) would cost me 200 dollars a month.Thats ridiculous for something who never goes to the doctor anyway.
So maybe instead of national health care, insurance companies need to be reigned in on how much they charge, and insurance should be made affordable.

The proponents of national health coverage use Canada as a model to say, see how this works! Isn't it sad that the conservative government in Canada is getting ready to phase out our national health care to make it more like the U.S. profit-driven model?
I have always maintained that any profit should be removed from health care, simply because it means that the rich would always get the best, and the poor would get nothing but the leftovers. Sad.

Why should I pay for your health care??
Get a job and buy your own health insurance.
Next you'll want me to buy your food and a home too.
One of the biggest reasons for high insurance cost is the 20 million illegal immigrants using our emergency rooms for their health care insurance plan.

I do purely not think of I would desire to would desire to pay ungodly quantities of money to "insure" myself in order that i will bypass see a doctor to get scientific care. so a approaches as decision means, oil is an archaic means source. there are various greater efficient approaches to means this society and we as a rustic and a race have the technological understand a thank you to create it. We as a society would desire to get out of the fossil gas rut and improve and amplify our wisdom of propulsion. it is the place company u.s. is obtainable in. Capitalism is a solid undertaking, yet greed is aside of capitalism and it is denigrating our society as an entire. that is totally ironic and intensely genuine. If human beings would open their eyes slightly they'd see it. too a number of of a solid undertaking can replace into an extremely undesirable undertaking. Have a brilliant day!!

Yes it is. Obama barak and Hillary Clinton are working very hard to get our country in that direction. Let's hope they succeed. But I think it is all of our responsiblity. Including the drug companies and insurance carriers to work toward a solution.
