When the clouds hit cooler temperature air, they can't hold the moisture any longer, so condensation occurs, and it falls in the form of rain. If the air below the clouds is dry, the rain might not hit the ground.

Clouds are made up of billions of drops of water . as the water cools in the atmosphere , the water droplets combine and when they have gained enough weight they fall back to earth to go through the whole cycle again .run-off , lake or stream , evaporation , condensation , precipitation .
