Two and One:
Married means between two,
Unmarried means only one
Any Time:
Married- they can do any time,
Unmarried needs occassions and circumstances to do,
Married cannot become unmarried, unmarried can become married.

Truthfully, that's probably a personal thing. In the eyes of the state, it's a piece of paper. In the eyes of your family and friends it's sort of an acknowlegment that you won't sleep around on each other, or everyone will know it. To you and your other it represents love, commitment and a deep bond (after school-special moment), and mentally you can be married before you sign the paper or you can be unmarried after. That's probably not the textbook definition, but that's what I think.

Unmarried people stay together by choice, but married people stay together out of fear of a lawsuit. Kidding. Love brings both together, but married people have announced a commitment.

I used to think it was just that piece of paper, and I still strongly believe that marriage is in the heart more then in that piece of paper. But since I met John, marriage has become much more to me. Just the ceremony itself is a beautiful way to show him how I feel with friends and family as witness. And if it can be made 'legal' then why not. But there are way too many people getting married and not meaning it, just having marriage for marriage's sake.

It seems to be some kind of game. ' Yes I can!' vs 'No you can't!'
To me, it is a Christian ceremony that was started by God. Yet people who are proud of breaking his other rules, are the ones who seem to be wanting to use his ceremony to feel like they are 'legal.'
Almost everybody else (including myself) has seemed to just take it lightly. We have not really considered that it is a covenant between two people just like a covenant between God and us.
Now it seems to be a prerequisite for getting health insurance and the like, so who knows how the original institution of marriage will end up! It is just a legal thing, I suppose.
But when God 'puts his foot down' it sure is going to make some big noise!

Married people have a wedding ring that they can show off when they don't want people to hit on them. They can also back out of invitations, saying their significant other had something else planned. It's really quite handy... that ring is....
Married people also tend to have jealous partners that become dangerous for people who sleep with the married people.
