The whole reason for a transsexual to even go through such a dramatic, and traumatic change is because they Already felt like they were the opposite sex, on the Inside. Most folk I know who have been through this [and I know several] approach it like the correction of a birth defect. They already felt on the inside like a person of the opposite gender, and they are merely helping themselves feel more comfortable in a body that didn't match up with thier emotional/mental sense of themselves.

I think people feel like the opposite sex for a long while before they change their sex. I expect that once they have the "correct" sex they feel right, like the sex they have changed to.

I'm guessing your referring to sex reassignment surgery. I felt and lived as a female before the surgery, so no change on that score. but I do feel that my physical side matches my mental side now. So I'm more complete.
