I'm a 9th grader who has taking a babysitting class and has quite an experience with kids because I have a whole lot of little kids in my family and I usually take care of them. Currently, I'm thinkng about posting an advertisement up for babysitting or joining a Youth Employment Service that sets you up with families in need. I was wondering if you could tell me how much you'd pay me for per hour if i did a great job with your kids. Also, I am a vegetarian and I undertsand that many parents expect babysitters to make food for them and all. Would it be a problem to you if I fed your children something that didn't have meat in it just for that day when I was babysitting? I mean...it's strictly against my religion to touch or eat meat and I have followed it throughout my whole life. If I were to make Mac & chese or Grileld Cheese Sandwiches or maybe even Spaghetti..anything your child enjoyed eatign EXCEPT meat..would you have a problem with it? I would be willing to cook and everything.

Determining How Much to Pay Your Babysitter
Babysitting rates-usually paid by the hour-depend on a variety of factors, from where you live, to the ages and temperaments of your children. The type of sitter you hire also can be an important aspect in determining the amount you should pay. Adolescents who are just starting out will probably receive less than older, more experienced teens or adults. Babysitters with special qualifications or training might also receive higher rates. Some babysitters charge an extra dollar or two per hour for each child, over and above their base rate for one child.
Pay Ranges & Factors that Affect Them
Hourly ranges of pay for babysitters quoted in current sources run anywhere from $5.00 to $15.00. The best way to determine the going rate in your neighborhood is to ask around. Talk to other parents in your community about what they have paid. Babysitters often set their own rates and will communicate this to you when you talk to them about a potential job and in their BabySitters.com profile. You can also talk to a babysitter's references and find out how much they have paid the sitter.

Other things to consider are the responsibilities the job includes. "Watching a 7-year-old who is content to sit and read a book or play on her own for a few hours is different than caring for a brood of three, fixing dinner, bathing them and sending them off to bed," writes Jennifer Vogelsong in a recent newspaper article. Consider your children's specific needs and personalities and whether you want the babysitter to do certain activities or household tasks. Finally, you may want to take into account other factors such as the hours of the babysitting job (fees for long hours or late nights are often higher), or special dates like New Year's Eve. Babysitters will usually let you know about extra charges in the comments section of their BabySitters.com profile.

In my area most people pay $2-$3 an hour. I myself would not have a problem with my children not having meat, although they might. I would also like it if when you sat for the kids you explained to them why you don't eat meat. It is always good for kids to learn new things.

Hell you can come make me some mac and cheese or Grilled Cheese sandwiches! LOL I'm to lazy to do that kind of stuff. I'm suprised I haven't starved to death yet.

I'm sure most parents woudn't mind if you give them something beides meat for the day.

I'm sure there's plenty of people out there that need babysitters to. Since not to many people want to do it.

an elementary and enjoyable thought is to make Pb&J or turkey if the youngsters have allergic reactions and have the youngsters use great cookie cutters to shrink there sandwiches into enjoyable fit for human intake shapes. My teenagers consume this one up! yet another thought is to flow to the shop, purchase a pillsbury dough, spaghettie sauce and grated cheese, have the youngsters roll the dough into flat around "mini" pizza doughs and proceed from there...the youngsters somewhat will consume something that they might create themselves. To get them to consume some vegetables attempt little one carrots with dressing, or celery with PB and raisins on precise (ant on a stick). desire this helps!

I don't think you should have any problems with that.

It would probably do them good to have something fun but healthy.
