stop funding them through oil, stop funding Israel.

This is a question that is hard to answer.First you assume all terrorism comes from the middle east and is Islamic. The terrorists are a very very small part of it. Since oil was discovered in that region the US has manipulated those countries like pawns on a chessboard. They are wary of us, dont trust us and likely will never trust the US, just never because of how we have treated them.So even if we cut off Israel it wouldnt immediately change alot.Israel itself is alot of the problem.Despite what you see in the media here, Israel is not the good guy, they want to destroy all arabs, they have slaughtered hundreds of thousands of palestinians, they claim to own the US, to be able to manipulate us.They do, if someone doesnt agree, they cry anti semitic, the holocaust, whatever they have to say, they pretend to be the ones being attacked when they are the attackers. So when we back Israel that gives them another reason to not trust the US.

It may be too late now. We would all be better off if Bush had put as much into Israeli – Palestinian issues as he has into a senseless war against an already isolated and inconsequential Iraq.

We do, however, need a more even-handed approach regarding Israel.

We are not going to cut all ties or let Israel sink. That’s just the way it is.

We can stop supporting Israel like an overindulgent and too lenient parent.

Sometimes (actually, quite frequently) Israeli is wrong, and when Israel is wrong we need to show the world that we recognize Israel is wrong.

Simply being honest about things would give us added credibility on those occasions when it is right to stand up for Israel.

If the US ends it support for Israel, that would spell disaster in the Middle East. (The crazy Israelis have nuclear weapons, remember) The only solution in the Middle East is that Israel MUST, at any or all costs, seek 'acceptance' in the region. (As impossible as that may sound) The US cannot 'protect' Israel forever.
Israel has a lot to offer its neighbours, in the field of technology, sound economics, agriculture, etc. It is either this, or 'suicide bombers' forever.
Once Israel becomes a 'peace-loving nation', things in the Middle East will slowly return to normal.

If the US suddenly dropped support of Israel it would take time it was for real because the US has such a history of supporting Israel and interfering in the Mideast for the oil. With that said in the long run it would definitely cut down on terrorists attacks on US but then most terrorists are attacking the status quo in their own country. Those countries like Egypt and Saudi Arabia plus other governments in the Mideast would lose power and a new form of government would arise and oil prices would rise and they would seek the friendship of the rest of the world to sustain their newly formed governments.

Yes, if we cut all ties to the Middle East, stop funding through oil and stop funding Israel and close our borders, then Islamic countries would leave America alone.

But that wouldn't be any fun. What would the armaments, aerospace and defense industries do? What about oil companies? What about Fox? What about Cheney's friends?
And poor little Israel needs loads of American cash...

Yes, our support of Israel will always fuel the hatred of radical Islam.

America has committed itself to the protection of the Jewish State of Israel and it is a commitment we should never waver from. We are connected by a belief in the One God, whose Jewish son, so many of us believe has saved us all. Not to go all religous wacky on you, but for me that is the primary connection. And we have also promised to never again fail the Jewish people as we did during the Holocaust.

I do agree with you about oil. The time has long come and gone for us to move away from oil dependence. We have the technological capability to do it. And what single thing could once again restore the American automotive and a host of other industries, if in 10 years, the Federal Government mandated the removal of gasoline-combustion engines from private automobiles. We could steal a march on the competition that would take them another 10 years to catch up. Chevy needs to really make that new American revolution they keep talking about.

The removal of oil money form the Arab nations is the single greatest blow to terrorism that we can make. And let's face it, the Saudis are already preparing for the time when the oil goes away. They are ensuring that the culture of their society which existed pre-oil wealth will be intact when the post oil wealth days arrive and they can return to the bedouin life.

Let's help hasten that move back to the desert.

The first thing that would happen is that Israel would be no more. Before they left though, they would surely use the nuclear weapons that they are not supposed to have. A mess indeed. For thousands of years, the Jews have had no friends, for good reasons I would guess. Muslims would do anything to rid their region of these people, and yes, our support of them is a very large reason why we are despised as well. I say make sure Israel does not use nuclear weapons and let them fight it out.

Wouldn't you hate the bully who protected the thief who stole your sandwich?
As for the second part of your question it is a moot issue. Impossible to accomplish due to: dependancy on oil from the Middle East: dependency on the Jewish controlled world banking system:
demonstrated inability to secure our own borders.
History has shown that if you are an "infidel" you will always be a valid target for the followers of Islam.

Of course it does this is the center of the problem the US supports Israel providing them with the 3rd biggest army in the World so they can control the middle east and its oil. Israel, with American support, occupies Palestinian land illegally and kills anyone who protests. Then you wonder why they hate you.
