After a few hours s10 will start up, run 4 awhile then do it agian. Not sure what it is, computer shows nothing, fuel pump & filter are ok,

Kind of thinking its the central port injector (CPI)

look into the distributor, it sounds like the chip might be opening up as it heats up. they are not that expensive and relatively easy to install

If its the vortec v6 they have a real problem with the injection unit in the intake manifold. Could cause a no start issue.

You have a bad ignition module under the distributor cap.
GM sucks for that.

There are two screws holding it on to the advance plate, I think they're 1/4"
Take the scews out, un plug it, and have it tested.

They're about $22.

REPLACE THE ING MOGULE IN THE DIST.DID YOU CK. FOR SPARK.IF NO SPARK CK FOR POWER AT COIL.W/SOME ONE IN TK HAVE THEM CRANK THE ENGINE OVERONE SIDE SHOULD BLINK IF NOTAND U HAVE POWER THERE REPLACE W/ABOVE PART

You have an ignition malfunction, not fuel.

what year? Engine/ CFI or TBI ? Do You have spark when it doesn't start?

if it is fuel injected ,check your crankshaft sensor
