NONONONONONO!!!! Tiger Direct sells mostly Acer's and Gateway's...both of which are terrible laptops. Please look into not WHERE you buy it, but WHAT you are buying. Look into HP's or Dell's.
If you want to see NON-BIASED reviews for laptops, go here...

They have tons of customer reviews. HP's usually come in tops, followed closely by Dell.

My wife bought an Acer Aspire 3000 from TD a little over a year ago. $400 after 2 mail-in rebates (which always take a while to process - I think the initial outlay was $600). We haven't had any problems with it at all.
Short answer - yes
Editted to address other replies - My company provides me with Dell laptops. I usually burn out the HDs in just over a year. It's a peice of $#|+. You couldn't pay me to own a Dell in real life. At home, I build my own desktops about every 3 years, fwiw.

Yes, as long as you realize that they sell refurbished products. It's not really a big deal, but it's not the same as getting a brand new laptop. Also, their products usually come with a one-year warranty. So, if you're looking for a more cost-effective alternative to buying a refurbished laptop, TigerDirect is a good choice.

If you plan on buying a brand new one, be careful they don't send you a refurb.
