If you are the kind of person who can take complaints and verbal harrasment from livid strangers, and not take it personally then you would be okay. I tried it once for a big company, and It would just make me so mad that people could act like that to another human being over the phone or in person. If you are patient and like making people happy, go for it. If you are a sensitive person like me, STAY AWAY. Go to sales or administration.

If you area combative personality.. always have to be right.. butt authroity.. are naturally rude... then yes CSR work will be difficult..

Though , depending on your industry, CSR work can be alot of fun, very paced paced and at times personally satisfying; it can also be a giant pain in the behind. A good CSR will master the skill of giving the customer what he/she requires while still meeting company standards. This is not always an easy task.

Then there are the customers themselves. Some customers are quite demanding, and will alwasy assume that you are incompotent. Others will smile and agree and cause no trouble, but then tell someone else that you are incompotent, while others still, will be angels and a pleasure to deal with.

Yes, you have to be nice, and the customers yell, scream and swear at you. Also most companies have a minimum number of calls per day. When I did customer service we had to take at least 130 calls a day, which worked out to be about 2 minutes per phone call. I did it for ten years, got out about 2 years ago and I still hate talking on the phone. I would certainly advise you...if at all possible go into another field.

YES!You must have the utmost patience with people. There will be days when you are ready to scream and some days where you laugh to keep from crying. However, on the other side it can be very rewarding solving people's problems because if you are good they will be forever greatful. I've had customers tip me, buy me lunch, etc. just because I dispayed a little patience and kindness. So, depending on your personality, it can be very rewarding or very demanding.

Sales associate is the hardest. I would think that a sales associate job would be required to actually sell a required amount. All jobs that deal with the public are going to require customer service.

You bet, however it really depends much on your personality. In a quirky way, the right person can look at the job in the same light as raising children. You always love them, but know that they will hurt you, let you down, break your heart and all manner of things, but you still love them, the are your customers.

I think of it as apples and oranges. It does get stressful at times, Hell, a customer threatened to call the police on me because my product wasn't in stock. but not everyone is that bad, just everyone that you meet. When they talk to you, they aren't talking to you as a human, it's you as a representative of the company.

If the company in question has a good training program, your boss is a mentor, then no it is not difficult. Treat people with respect, try to help solve the problem and don't take anything on the phone personally.
