how do you get the genarater piece in pokemon gold?

you need to go to misty's gym, and in there, you'll find a sneak thief. he's clearly up to no good, and you need to beat his brains in.

after you knock his [level 30(?)] golbat out of the sky, he'll make a break for the door.

when you get outside, there's this guy that says he saw the man run to route 24. however, you don't know what the heck that is, so you go into a random house, and against the protests of the man living in there, despite his rants about strangers not knocking first, you go and look at his map.

when you look at the map, you'll find that rt 24 is directly north of here. hey, that's easy! so you head north on what's called 'nugget bridge' where you'll find the sneak again. he'll fess up about how he stole the generator part, and then stashed it in the water gym.

if you go back to the water gym, you'll notice the ground is surrounded quite heavily by water. however, in one part of the stone brick ground, there is a 2x2 square filled with water. check in there for the generator part.

after you've gotten the part, head on over to the electric factory. no, not the one in philly, i'm talking about the one in kanto. the guy will be so happy you returned it, and now you can get the part of your radio that let's you play 'pokemon flute' channel, to get that freaking snorlax out of your way

oh wow... its been so long since i beat that game... i almost positive that you have to beat somebody who took it, like a team rocket member or something but its been like 3 or 4 years since i beat it... i can't remember much more, hope someone else can be more of a help.
- Edit Oh wait i remember now!!!! you have to go into misty's jym... i think you fight someone and they said they hid it somewhere then you have to go swimming around in those pools in her gym and pushing "A" its in one of the pools of water, just swim around in each one for a few minutes, you should find it.
