Smith...he's shown improvement this season, while Simms has taken a step back so far.

Take Alex Smith. He throws for more yards than Simms and faces a Philly defense minus Jeavon Kearse. While the 49ers haven't been winning games, they do move the ball and put points on the board. The Buc's offense is terrible right now, wait until they get Cadillac healthy and have a better matchup.

Start Simms.Alex Smith becuase hes sorta on fire. But you kind of screwed with both. Simms is facing the Carolina D and Simms is facing the ever unforgiven Philly D. Try the waiver wire for a QB.

"Sep 25 Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden visited with Simms Monday morning after Simms' emergency surgery late Sunday, and Gruden left the hospital encouraged that Simms could return this season, the Tampa Tribune reports. However, Simms is still expected to be out of action at least 6-to-8 weeks." straight from yahoo sports. spleen surgery

Alex will put up more yardage as they will be playing from behind all day. Simms will throw more TD's but will be lucky to throw for 200 yards. So if you are in a yardage league take Alex Smith, if you are in a TD's league take Simms.
