You have good Gaydar. But it is genetic. If you are gay you were born that way.

There is an on-going debate about whether homosexuality is choice or if it's something you're born with. Both sides have decent arguments, though I personally believe it's something you have at birth, and over time it manifests [kind of like the way straight people develop feelings for the opposite sex as they mature].
Gay men, especially, are often stereotyped as being "femme" and dressing upscale. I've met a multitude of gay men who nobody would suspect to be that way at all, simply because they don't fall into that clothing stereotype. Lesbians are usually viewed to by "dyke's", the really sporty looking people with short hair, but once again this is just another stereotype. I've met lesbians that are extremely girly, and you certainly wouldn't have figured that they were lesbians, unless they told you. So, in some ways, yes you can tell who is homosexual, but I wouldn't completely rely on it because some of women like dressing comfortable and keeping their hair short but are attracted to men, and some men like dressing classy and taking care of their bodies but are attracted to women.

Can I borrow your Gaydar??? Being gay is something that for whatever reason, people just are.

My best friend grew up in a well-to-do Catholic household, he and his older brother are gay. There's a little less than 10 years between the two, so they weren't exactly close. On top of that, his parents weren't exactly pleased with it; but that doesn't change the fact that they raised 3 sons, 2 of which are gay.

This is really another argument for genetics, but I felt like posting it anyway

being homosexual IS genetic, but most of the time, you still can't "tell" someone is gay by the way they look or talk....that's stereotyping. while there are some that fit the stereotypes, most don't. some of us all feel we are just attuned to it..."gaydar" as we sometimes call it.

Being born homosexual is not a way to tell others are homosexual. You would be surprised at the amount of men who are straight identified and yet get it on with their buds. This is why they don't think male bisexuals are real they are mostly closeted.
You would think a woman who is more observant to social ques would not suspect the man she has sex with are also having sex with guys.

You can't reliably. My gaydar is pretty good, but it's not 100%. You'd be quite surprised at some of the guys who are gay.

p.s. I loved that comment about sex being for reproduction! I can just imagine that person having sex only 2 or 3 times in his life.:-)

Actually you may just think they are gay. Just because people walk or talk different dosen't mean that they are gay. Some people are just good at hiding things and some just pretend some may even not notice they are doing that but that doesn't mean they are gay.

:) Quite often you can't tell by mannerisms. Then again, sometimes you can.

Whether it's genetic, biological, or some other physiology, the only thing I definitely know is that it's not a decision, it's just part of who I've always been.

Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. But my Gaydar is good, but it's not fabu like my late uncle was(He could spot an LGBT person from "as far as the crow flies"...LOL!).

I've always known that I was gay, but it took forever for me to accept it. I'm glad I did.;-)

We're out there. You don't notice most of us. You just notice the flaming queens. You have to have really really good gaydar to notice the majority of gays.
