I just went through the same thing as you. I'm 23 years old and didn't have period for 7-8 weeks and then this morning it started. i was so relieved. i am anaemic! there is a lot of good advice here but try not to stress as this makes it worse. Go to your doctor or clinic, for peace of mind. Good luck and take care.

First off I would go to the doctor. To make you a little more at ease, I have and am going through the same thing. I have not had one since March of 2006. The first time this happened to me I was freeked out. I went an entire year with out a cycle. With that I went to my GP 4 times, which everytime they told me I was fine. There are a number of reasons this could be, but again don't take it lightly. Your bodies hormone levels could be low, if you have had significant loss or gain of weight, stress, stopped taking birth control, or bad eating habits all have a factor to the matter. The last time this happened, I lost 30 lbs and here came my cycle. Try not to stress over it, but seriously go to the doctor, get a blood test to see if you are pregnant and if not, have them do a pap. If all comes out negative, then it is one of the factors I have listed above. If you need some support, just IM me at alikiakana2. It is a yahoo account. Take care and remember go to the doctor.

I think the main question is have you had unprotected sex and is there a chance you could be pregnant?
If there is a chance you could be pregnant make an appointment with your doctor who will carry out a pregnancy test for you.
If you havent had unprotected sex then there are a number of things that can cause a missed period, many women miss periods for no apparent reason.
Stress can also cause a missed period, and you may not even feel stressed out. Weight loss and medications could also be to blame. good luck

if you've been actively trying to concieve then it can be possible that you're pregnant but the reason it's not showing on the tests could be that you have a very low level of the hormone produced when pregnant which is what the test actually measures.
many other circumstances can affect periods too such as poor diet or stress so it could be your body's way of trying to promote a change in lifestyle? also, worrying about missing a period can delay things further so relax!
hope this helps.

Right first thing how old are you?? Are you under any stress or worries coz that can affect your cycles, as someone else mentioned poor diet, I dont have the best diet in the world but im regular.....
If your 100 per cent sure you may be pregnant sweety, id go to your gp and demand a blood test!!!! And if then still comes out positive then, it is something else, don't worry yourself im sure everything will be fine... If you want to chat some more plz mail me ... caroline_f22uk@yahoo.com

chances are you are not pregnant, if you are under "stress" sometimes it can disrupt your cycle and you might not get your period on time, but you WILL get it believe me, it's coming.....another possibility to consider is, your age, if you are close to menopause you might be having closure with that part of your life and if that is the case.....you won't get your period for a year........and then again it might come and go, its all part of being a women. If I were you and didn't get it for say another week, I'd stop by the Doctors office and have a check up, it might be something that needs medical attention and might not have anything to do with pregnancy. Good Luck

You should go see a doctor. But you should know that there are reasons other than pregnancy that would cause you to miss your periods. You could be stressed. Some people that are underweight don't get their periods. A doctor could help you figure out if there is cause for alarm or not.

It happens. Dont stress, well thats maybe the problem. Give it another week. If still no sign you really would be better of seeing your doctor. And if you apply sods law than your period will start the day after you have been to the clinic!

How old are you? It could Be menopausal cos your period becomes irregular at that time. Even if you are under 40 it might be an early one. Who knows. Your parctise nurse can do a blood test to determine this (or not).

well i doubt you are pregnant. you may have amorhoea which is absence of periods. this could be down to stress or diet, and many other things. i lost a lot of weight and didnt have a period for over a year, i was worried and had tests but showed nothing. they do return, just ask your GP for more advice
