Gripe, groan, cry, bellow, howl, shriek, weep, wail, and gnash your teeth - for about five minutes. Then get over it and go on!
There's usually not a thing in the world you can do to change 'it' unless it is BEFORE 'it' happens.
So just make up your mind that you have learned a 'life lesson' and go on.
If you want to dwell on it, check out the people who do dwell on stuff - THEY are life's losers, and YOU are a winner! Don't forget it! Good luck to you!

Use the opportunity to learn about hope. If you had no hope, you'd have no disappointment. Why be hopeful? Things are going to happen whether you hope for them or not. Why not just live in the present and let the future take care of itself?

I mope about for a short time, then push it out of mind. I then find something else on which I can pin my hopes. If you keep trying, something will eventually work out to your advantage.

It will pass. Don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed. Besides, another door always opens and it is usually for the best.
PS Divert your energy and attention to other things like charity or social work and helping others will help you.

Make a list of all the things in your life that you are thankful for. Tack it up somewhere where you will see it all the time.
If that doesn't work, go buy a new handbag.

You let it go, and hope that the next time, fate will decide in your favour. Meanwhile you work towards your long term goals just as hard as before.

You get your mind on other things! Do something you really like to do and take lots of risks. The time has come to focus on yourself and take care of you.
