Washing may be part of it, spreading manure-based fertilizer is another issue.

Smaller, organic spinach farms often use well-water, and vegetable-based compost, so are not at risk for e.coli infestation.

I can't seem to answer this. My brain has ceased to function for lack of my accustomed daily fresh spinach fix. I feel downright anemic.

I personally blame Osama bin Laden for this. Cunningly he removed all the 'remember to wash your hands' signs from the spinach factory toilets.

Actually, it could be from low paid workers defecating in the fields. They are saying possibly animal waste or manure. Well???

They haven't said it on the news yet, but that's my guess.

they don't have a problem that's because since most mexicans live in california because its close to mexico, more people talk like that.
