it follows the pattern of adding 3,5,7,9,11 and so on with an addition of 2 to the difference between each successive terms.

the difference between 4 and 9 is 5 and the difference between 9 and 16 is 7 so they difference between the numbers increases by 2 each time.

The sequence would therefore be 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36
The differences are 3, 5, 7, 9, 11

The formula for this pattern is n squared where n is the number in the sequence u r looking for. Say you are looking for the 10th number itll be 10 squared which is 100.

it's each number in numerical order times itself

1x1=1
2x2=4
3x3=9
4x4=16
5x5=25
6x6=36

etc.
