I am sure everyone is the same when faced with a bad attitude and may either confront it right then. Or keep an eye on them if they are too high powered to deal with on your level and just remember how they see things. So knowing their stand on things lets you work around them. After a while they will not be useful to the Co. and will be let go.
A bad attitude can corrupt the rest and interrupt or slow production. So this person needs to be left to do his/her job and watched. It is just a matter of time.

Make a light joke of their sarcasms and try to lift them up. If it is someone who works closely with you and its bringing you down, find another job. Over the years, this person could pull you into their depression.

Depends, if it is a one time thing, I fiqure they are having a bad day. If it is all the time, I talk to them and if they don't change, they get fired.

Just ignore them and focus on my own work. We should mind our own business.
