Great. Put him back in charge of his country and stop the civil war, and bring the troops back home! some people need dictators!

He cannot and would not get anything back. Following the hypothetical, if he were found innocent the only real difference would be that his death would be more bloody and clumsy; corrections systems do the job much more neatly. (I am, by the way, a tireless opponent of the death penalty. I oppose the death penalty without reservation. I just believe that Hussein is not likely to survive long if he were set free in Iraq. If they are killing women and children at random, how much chance does a notoriously vicious tyrant have?)

That would be pretty damn near impossible. To be declared innocent, he would have to have zero involvement in whatever he's charged with. A verdict of not guilty is possible, but no way can he be declared innocent.

Not sure what'd he'd do if that happened. He's an exile with nowhere near the amount of power and influence he used to. He might wind up shot in the skull on day one out of the prison.

If he is found not guilty, he would go free. If our system of justice, or the Iraqi system of justice, is to mean anything, he must go free if not guilty.

That does not mean he would get the presidency back, or that he would get back the property that he was using while President, although if it is his personal property, he should get it back.

Let me note that I am no fan of Saddam, but that's the way it has to be if the rule of law is going to mean anything in the new Iraq. No doubt someone would kill him within days of his going free anyway.

thats where im proven that almost anything to do with Law and the Legal system in any country is utter crap! If we know hes wrong why does he still have any chance to defend himself? People these days with money can afford to do anything they like.

im all against the death penalty but he should be locked up in some factory for the rest of his life doing community service or smth.

He would stand trial on the next charge in the stack, then the next, and the next. They have started out with the little charges first and working their way up to the worse last.

He will then have a large legal action against the United States and will sue for compensation. Therefore Florida will be annexed to his rule, as Florida is not actually important to USA.

Of course, he will be set free! Whether he would become or want to become president of Iraq again is a different matter!

That depends if enough people are still loyal to him. Also if enough people are disillusioned over the current state of instability and violence in the country, compared with the relative stability while he was in power.

Also it depends if he wants his old job back or not.

He would end up on a reality show somewhere. Maybe VH1's "Surreal Life" or "Celebrity Fit Club." I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him his own show. Maybe something like "Being Bobby Brown."
