Birdsnake - this is the report of intelligence agencies, based on what they see and hear in the middle east. It's a big story, not some tiny, obscure fact.

This is a superb question! I absolutely agree with that conclusion. Even more amazing is a report that bin Laden had been very frustrated that the muslim nations had not repsonded to his call for war against the West, so he concocted 9/11 so that the West would attack Islamic nations and that in turn would create a major recruitment tool for his al Qaeda army. If that's true, we've been doing exactly what bin Laden wanted us to do. Scary!

I think there's some truth to it, if we could have struck decisively and against Terrorists rather htan Iraqis we would have actually disuaded terror recruiting with the fear of death. But we've invaded a country that we can't control with virtually all of our army and officially we haven't caught a single terrorist. Our refusal to admit we've made a mistake and try to correct things has turned international patience to the resentment of the people of the world.

of course ... they need to keep the terrorist mill churning out new terrorists ... at least on ur tv and in the media. thats whats driving everything thats going with the administration, policies at home and abroad that supports the direction those in power want to go ... they dont even have to exist in reality as long as they can get you to buy into it everything is peachy ... seen any terrorists in ur neibourhood lately? no, me neither .. just on the tv... the tv is crawling with them.

Yes, it's a recruitment vehicle. In the Arab psychological mind set it goes like this: "me against my brother, my brother and me against our cousin, me, my brother, my cousin and I against our neighbor". Kick that principle "up a notch" and you can see how that translates into a recruitment vehicle among terrorists as a consequence to our continued presence in Iraq.

No one knows.
You are just searching for something to support what you already believe.
The terrorists were coming anyway.
