Why do people think that only a very small fraction of Muslims are Islamic fanatics?

I once asked a question addressing Muslims that went something like:

Is it true that you can legally kill your own daughter if she disobeys you, has fornicated, or becomes pregnant outside of marriage?
-Since over here in America is has been known to occur, and they try to use their religion as a just cause to kill their own kid.
ANd it happens in England so much it's unbelievable....

YOu would be shocked at the responses. One Muslim woman said something like:
Well wouldn't you want to kill your daughter if she did that?
And 'they deserve it.'
Crap like that.

Yeah, well, I don't know how any religion can allow men to dominate them like that. They really are second class citizens.

You generalized and judged all muslims by your small encounter of muslims? If your intention is to really learn about Islam, then go to a proper class. If your intention is to solidify your own preconceived judgements about muslims, then you will only hear what you want to hear, regardless.

Let me answer your question:
NO, there is no such thing written in Islam. Murder is one of the biggest sins in Islam.

FYI, Islam is regarded as the first women's rights movement, led by a man. It stopped the killings of babygirls (killed because they were girls), elevated the status of women to that of respectable status (from mere objects or toys for the men) and the Quran states that women are equal halves of men (equality), that heaven will be rewarded for a father who have daughters and take good care of them, that heaven is near if you take good care of your mother (see how highly women are regarded of in Islam). Muslim women even have the right to vote, while American women back then had to actually fight for it.

I hear stuff like 'We should just nuke all muslims' from fellow Americans, so is it right for me to label all Americans as war-loving barbarians? Of course not. You shouldnt either.
