Good luck! If you find out, please let me know. I've been trying to kill the bermuda grass in my front garden for two years now. All I can do is pull up as much as I can, and cut back the rest. I heard that spraying with vinegar in the summer will kill it, but have yet to try it.
Just checked the Utah State University County Extension website, and it's true - almost impossible to kill Bermuda grass because of the deep (2 ft) roots and the way it sends out creepers to start new areas of grass. You can't pull it up! I wasted all that energy! It's too late to try to kill it with Roundup now, since that has to be done in the growing season when it's healthy. Plus Roundup is nonselective, and will kill the non-Bermuda grass, too. If you do use Roundup (in July - August), spray it down. This kills the other grass and makes the Bermuda grass mad. Water & fertilize until the B. grass is happy again. Repeat the process twice. By the third time, it should be dead, but so will all the other grass in the area. Rework the soil, and replant for the next growing season. I don't know how long the Roundup sticks around, though.
Unfortunately, if your neighbor has Bermuda grass, it'll be back in about two years.

There are several different products available for that job. Check your
local nursery. I use "grass be gone" but the name is unimportant.
Bermuda grass is VERY hard to kill off and you will NEVER get it all the
first go-round. Wait 5-7 days and look for new growth and spray again.
And then again. And then again. I'm serious - don't even try to pull it up -
you are wasting your time!

Spray it with Round-Up. After the grass has died, spray it with Surflan.
If harsh chemical applications are not to your liking Google "Howard Garrett" or "The Doctor of Dirt" or "The Dirt Doctor".
