I'm trying to get around changing out another pump at $200+ when they only seem to get 55,000-60,000 miles out of one. It's that way with my buds 2000 S-10 P/U, too. #1ChevyPartsSupporter, Peej

You will get more life out of your in tank fuel pump if you stop running your gas tank below 1/8 of a tank of gas on a regular basis like you probably do. You see, the gas in the tank actually keeps your fuel pump cool so if you constantly run your tank low, you will have a tendancy to lower the life span of your in tank pump. Also, cheap fuel from cheap gas stations with not enough lubricant properties added to the fuel will cause premature fuel pump failure.

Putting a secondary supply pump in won't eleviate the problem.
The injector pump runs closer to 90psi at the injectors.
I'd look into some other issue with a restiction in the fuel line, or bypass hose plugged?

The constant fuel flow thru the pump keeps it cool.

Install the inline pump so you have access to it, the design from the manufacturer to put it in the tank is a money grabber for them, it sucks just like the pump!
