I hate to break it to ya, but at 5' 5", you better practice, practice, and practice some more!!!
You still might grow a little more.

Ive tried this with my kids and it seems to work. I have them wear gloves with hand lotion on their hands. Wear it all day--not at school, the day before the game. It softens up the hands.
Also, work on your quickness. Practice with the QB alone to get your timing in sync with each other.
Good route running is the key. Run good routes, and use head fakes effectively. ALWAYS expect the ball. Don't let the ball coming at you be a surprise. You'd be shocked how many times a receiver turns around and the ball is right at him, and they drop it, because they weren't expecting it.
And by the way, size doesn't matter especially at WR. It helps if you're taller but....you'll grow some more. Good luck,

Practice agility, changing directions, catching the football in different positions. Over the sholder, use your hands with the little fingers together. While facing the thrower, use your hands with the thumbs together. Relax your hands, as stiff fingers will not catch the ball well. Improve your speed, be aware of who is around you, and be willing to take a hit.

The key to success for a physical activity is training. Training both physically and mentally will allow you to perform at the highest level.
If you follow football, you know that the players study their assignments and their opposition. Go to the Pro Football hall of fame linked below and read about some of the greatest players. There you may find inspiration to realize your goal.

Size don't matter look at Steve Smith as long as you can catch the ball every time and outrun the defensive backs you will be a better wide receiver.

Practice and keep in top shape. Work on your vertical jump. Have anyone that will throw to you pass to you. Have them throw challenging throws as you get better. Practice finger rolling the ball back in to you. Good luck, I wish you ultimate success.
