I have just discovered Google Earth, thanks to Yahoo answers. It's my favourite toy at the moment. I have been looking at loads of places but does anyone recommend something really great to look at with it? The earth is awesome when you can see it like this!

Yes, I have been looking at lanzarote, like a lunar landscape. I am going back ther next week. It's amazing!

Ok, Thanks. I obvioulsy have looked at my own house and everyone elses and done the most popular places but I just wondered if you had found really amazing places that weren't run of the mill touristy things ;-)

It is great, isn't it?? I love to look at my old neighborhood using it. Of course it is great to look at sites all over the world. Very cool "toy."

Google Earth is awesome. You have the entire world to look at. You could always start with trying to find your own place, relatives and friends places and marking them in. Then just travel to other parts of the world and explore the major cities. One can spend hours exploring all the different places.

I also love Google Earth and have marked the various places around the world where I've been but unfortunately over the last week it refuses to load. I've removed it and reloaded it but still no good. Cant imagine why - its very annoying

My favourite use is to get from one place to another with maps using post codes. And viewing the City of Paris

Well i have looked at Volcanoes on it, Beaches in hot places & the Himalya's In fact you can bookmark places on it too Like where you have been on hoilday Places that you have lived etc, & Hell yeah its a great toy,

Although it is ok, I find it really annoying as some places are really clear and others - mainly the ones I want to look at - have little or no definition.

some places aren't very detailed, just big towns and cities really. i like looking at Paris and Moscow, and the random places i want to visit.
