a) we were busy admiring the 4th star defeating the french losers
b) we were trying to calculate how much money france have lost on participating at the world cup
c) we were playing soccer while france was losing the final
d) we were thinking how fifa can be governed by blahblah-blatter and the other french loser platini
e) other people have watched the final were france miserably lost to the world champions - or - other people have seen zidane the loser contributing to a sour defeat

b) they can't use a calcualtor so this is very reasonable
