Yes. If you grow up in a grossly dysfuntional home you experience many bad things but you also miss a lot of good things. I learned a wonderful truth from a dear friend. You can't change the past, but you can create a new one. Starting now.
I have a new "family" of friends and loved ones who allow me to experience the good things and learn the lessons I should have learned as a youngster. I let someone hold me while I cried just a few weeks ago. I missed that as a child. But I've learned to receive comfort as an adult and I don't want to grieve alone ever again. The past 6 years have been the best of my entire life and they form my new past.

yes. we humans are very interesting creatures. Some people believe in lives we have all lived prior to this one. IN those lives we may have encountered items and people who are still held in our brains after death. So we remember them existing. But we dont quite 'remember them' on another note, to 'miss' something is to feel a sense of longing while something is out of reach. That definition never said you had to have had it in the first place. So yes. It is possible to miss something you have never had. Its even remotly possible to miss something that you dont even know about. But i wont dive into that now. Its unrelated. But if you do want to hear that explination, email or posting on m 360 page will get it posted for you.
IM more than happy to help.

NO... if you never had it, you can't miss it... sort of like American High School students with a really bad education... how could they know they had gotten a sub-standard education when compared to the rest of the world, when they don't know what a really good education is?
Of course, once they find out they got one of the worst educations in the developed world... they get really upset.

Yes. Lots of things - some tangible and some intangible. Money is something that comes to mind.

I believe you can convience yourself that you miss it, but in truth you cannot miss something you do not know what it's like to have had.

No. If you could, then that would mean that you would have some sort of altered consciousness that is tuned on the high dial, paranoia setting :)

Sorry for the cut & paste, but Muddy Waters said it better than I could:
"Had a sweet little girl, I lose my baby, boy ain't that bad
Had a sweet little girl, I lose my baby, boy ain't that bad
You can't spend what you ain't got,
you can't lose some little girl you ain't never had
Had money in the bank, I got busted, people ain't that bad
Had money in the bank, I got busted, people ain't that bad
You can't spend what you ain't got,
you can't lose some little girl you ain't never had
Ain't that the truth boys
Had a sweet little home, it got burned down, people ain't that bad
My own fault, people ain't that bad
Well you know you can't spend what you ain't got,
you can't lose some blues you ain't never had
Have mercy!
Sweet little home, got burned down, people ain't that bad
Yeah you know I had a sweet little home, it got burned down, people ain't that bad
Whoa you know you can't spend what you ain't got,
you can't lose some little girl you ain't never had"

if you miss it, it means you had it at at one point, you lost it and now you want to get it back
if you never had it, you just want to get it, you don't miss it
