You don't say what the fabric is, the smells will be deep inside, aerosols don't do a deep cleaning job, as a retired carpet and upholstery cleaner I will advise you to hire a low foam extractor shampooer. This spays shampoo into the fabric and vac's it out again, thus removing dog hairs and dust that contain the smell, it will take around four hours to dry in summer and a bit longer in winter, Cost? between £10 & £20, NO need to replace your settee! NEVER, NEVER USE WASHING POWDER IN THIS WAY OR ON CARPETS, IF YOU DO, YOU WILL REGRET IT, it will leave a sticky resedue that will collect dirt.

If you can remove any parts of the settee, put them in the sun for a day and let them air our, before you put them in the sun spray with Lysol.
Then take a bed sheet or big blanket and keep over it, its easier to wash a sheet or blanket than to clean the settee. This is what I do, so my furniture stays clean, of course I remove them if company is coming.

if you have steam cleaner, use it. If not, see if you can rent one at a local grocery store/carpet cleaner place. If you can't use aerosals, this would be the best way to go, plus it will deep clean

Why not Frebreze? That seems to work well with most everything.
