It just is.. they cant help it. Its hardwired in their brains.
Beauty signifies good health, and by choosing beautiful women they are choosing healthy mates who can produce healthy offspring who can in turn carry on their lineage successfully.
Its all about spreading their genes.

Because it is even more important to girls. Boys don't usually judge other guys' clothes or hair unless it is really really bad; but girls are very judgemental on how a guy or girl dresses, walks, their overall appearance, etc. Guys have to look how they think girls want to look.

It is just as important to many girls, but it should not be. They are not looking at the whole book so to say, where beauty is only skin deep. When all that goes away, what are you left with. Haven't you noticed that the cutest guys and girls are the meanst?

you said it right ...BOYS....because some men are superficial..as some women can be too..I know appearance to them is very important but I think having things in common and personalities in the long run is worth more...

Biological thinking that has evolved over the years - they are visual ppl --> imagine the kind of babies a beautiful woman can produce compared to an ugly one ;)

apperarance is important to all of us boys and girls. it's the only thing that we notice at first glance.....boys just like to be better than the other boys.....so they always have to have the best.
