It's actually a mispelling of Norman. It means characteristic, plain Jane, it tastes a bit like tepid water, or like chewing on a piece of cardboard. it's sounds like a room full of people all laughing at the same joke or crying at the same song with the same tempo, in the same key. It's the feeling of walking into a room full of people all wearing identical clothes all having the same name. Actually that's pretty abnormal but you might feel normal at least. Normal is there to remind us of what we are not and if we ever got there we would probably start running in the opposite direction as soon as we realised what it was.

hmmm, well I dont believe that there is a such thing as normal, because there are too many variables in life, but I guess if I was going to try to define "normal" I would suggest that it is "what ordinarily comes to pass" or the "usual thing".
Tricky but good question :-)

I am not a phsycologist but this is how I see...normal...
Normal is whatever..normal..is to you..!!
eg..you go to a doctor for high colesterol, after weeks of medication she or he says, it is now within the normal limits...but reading the report suggests it is still too high..but it is normal..for your..own range limits...make sense?...
Other end of the scale now..eg..the alcocholic is on a massive binge, drunk, abusive, very noisy and annoying...three or four days later, another neighbour says..oh, he is ..normal now...
Well what that means is, he certainly is not normal, but his quiet period is...normal for him...
Hope this helps to normalise this question for you..haha

My experience is that each person defines "normal" as whatever they have learned and experienced. So it's different for each of us. It's a funny concept, isn't it?

You can look at various dictionary definitions (example):
Psychology. a. approximately average in any psychological trait, as intelligence, personality, or emotional adjustment.
b. free from any mental disorder; sane.
But really, why would you want to be normal? :)
