Africa has the potential to become a superpower, if they can get get their act together.

They need to get rid of the dictators, corrupt officials, and the IMF needs to reduce Africa's debt.

The potential to be an asset is strong.

an asset or a liability to who? I think Africa is the way it is because from the very beginning it has been plundered by outside forces, I want to see free and democratic societies all over the world

It could be a wonderful asset, but it is a liability. How many years have we (UK and others) been pouring aid into it? Has it developed comensurately? Has it hell. It seems very harsh to say so, but it would have developed far quicker and more positively if it hadn't been lost from the Empah! (Ref. somebody's earlier remark about corruption, etc.)
