Maybe you need to see another doctor for a second opinion. Yeast infections by themselves do not usually cause a change in pH. (Changes in pH are more commonly due to bacterial vaginosis or certain STDs. Based on your description, I wonder if you have bacterial vaginosis- which responds to antibiotics such as flagyl.) But, if this really is a recurrent yeast infection, several other options need to be explored: are you potentially diabetic? (Diabetics, when not being treated, are more prone to yeast infections.) Also, certain yeast infections can become resistant to certain treatments- so culture and sensitivity testing might be indicated. If your current doctor is not willing to discuss these options, get a second opinion.

If the discharge is frothy and tends to be on the green side of yellow then it could be trychomonis vaginitis If it is just yellow and smelly it could be gardenerella but that doesn't usually smell foul...I think you need to go to an STDclinic and get more tests cos your gp doesn't seem to be helping at all and it is very rare for yeast infections to smell foul...Incidentally, if you use tampons, are you sure you removed the very last one from your last period?

This may sound like a daft question. But when your in the bath co you clean your bits externally or do you scoosh water inside? If your bath water is getting inside your vagina then I would put money on the fact that this is the cause.
So, you had a yeast infection once, got weirded out by it, increased the amount you bath and the attention with which you clean your bits. If you are using the bath water to try and clean the inside of yourself, then stop as it is causing the continued yeast infection.
Once you stop, continue treating yourself with caneston cream and your should be fine

Yeast infections, generally, are not characterized by as strong an odor as you allude to. There is a very common infection called bacterial vaginosis (http://www.cdc.gov/std/BV/STDFact-Bacterial-Vaginosis.htm), or BV, that emits a strong, foul (often described as fishy) odor. It's very easy to treat with a single 2g dose of flagyl.

The acid level in your vagina is way off...you may be cleansing too much. You may want to try and vinegar douche to get some of the acidity back in there...also eating yogurt with live yeast in it can help. It sounds as if you are having an alkaline problem overly so. Hope that helps! I know it is tricky getting the balance just right so it may at least help toward making it better.

Ok, so you have been tested for all STDs, and come back clear.
Have you had a pap smear? You could have something going on in your uterus that isn't caught sexually.
As #2 says, discharge is normal, foul odour isn't. Your doctor should not let you continue to experience this with no diagnosis.

Discharge is normal, the foul odor isn't. Get a different doctor for another opinion.

Yellow discharge with a strong odor is not normal. You should go see another doctor for another opinion or go to the gynecologist.

yes, it is an infection, could also be thrush. Needs to be treated with antibiotics, don't wait for it to go away on its own. Meanwhile, do not have unprotected sex. Wear only 100% cotton underwear and don't use any spray or perfumed toiletries in that area

Sounds like BV or Trich to me go to the Dr. you need a Rx. And please don't douche I know it smells your OB/Gyn will tell you douching washes away the good stuff in there. Your body cleans its self. Tip: until you get this under control, shower no baths and use a different towel for your face.Good luck.
