How does one define something like "Gay" for a person whose very gender tends to lack (or at least blur) definition? Is a Male to Female that has sex only with men gay? Or is the one that only has sex with women? Are Transsexuals bi-sexual by default with out even having sex with anyone?

In our society we like to define everything and label everyone into categories but it's not that simple. A lot of situations are just to complex to fit them into a neat little box. So what's the point of trying to figure that out? They are who they are no matter what label you give them.

I think we're starting to get to a point that there aren't words that perfectly describe some people's relationships. People are starting to severely blur the gender and preference lines to the point that they can't be classified very specifically. There's a lot of people going to some form of "genderqueer" where they are outside of the two gender system. It would be impossible to use words for preferences that rely on there only being two genders or sexes to describe them.

Actually labels become confusing after a while. I male to female post op. I've never been with a man and have no interest in doing so. So from the outside looking in I was straight, now I'm lesbian.

Well you are arguing technicalities there...
What defines something as "gay" or "straight" tends to differ between people. Is your gender determined by your genitials, genetic structure, or mental mindset? While technically a male who has gender reassignment surgery is still genetically a male but the genitials say otherwise....
I suppose it really depends on the people involved in the sexual act.

Why even bother defining it? Gender is a social construct, and in the vast majority of people gender identification and sexuality will slide back and forth in at least small ways throughout their lives. Words and labels aren't necessary.

Whatever gender you present is the gender you are.

A male to female transexual is a woman. If she has sex with men, she is straight. If she has sex with women, she is gay. If she likes both, she is bi.

A female to male transexual is a man. If he has sex with women, he is straight. If he has sex with men, he is gay. If he likes both, he is bi.

It really is that simple.

Good point. You should find some Christians and nail them on the transsexual thing. Make them tell you what God would say. did He make a mistake?

if you feel like you are of a certain gender, and are attracted to the same gender you feel you belong to, you're considered gay. if you're attracted to the opposite sex (being your body's physical gender), you're straight.

and people have sexual orientations even as virgins, i don't understand that last part of your question.

there, easy as pie.
