A medical fellowship is an organization that is funded to perform research and advanced training through an educational institution. Physicians with fellowships are those who have undergone this training in their particular field of interest. Often, they are considered to be experts in their field, and continue their medical research throughout their careers. A doctor must be highly qualified to become a member of a fellowship.

My husband' s cardiologist is a facc. We are moving, and when we asked if he knew of a good one in nc, he said the facc would be good to look fot, because they have sat for the test nand keep current. That being said, he also told us some older drs. Have not sat for the
test and are better than some facc ones. So it still takes some searching to make sure you get the whole package, expertise plus
bedside manner!
