Or is it that they are truely offended by him quoting someone else? Are they really that hateful, looking for any reason to kill Christians?

The media loves sensationalism. But it is the Muslim leaders that incite violence. The Muslim violent reaction is carefully orchestrated to suppress freedom of speech. As Daniel Pipes says, the basic message is that because of Muslims' violent reaction, Islamic law rules over Westerners too "because you no longer have the privilege to say what you will about Islam, the Prophet, and the Qur'an."

So much for American rights of freedom of speech, redress of grievances and democracy itself. Islam is antithetical to them all.

The media is responsible for publicising what would have been an elite private function in the past. The media is not responsible for the Pope's content or the reaction to it. The Pope uses the media to get their message across so he should have known the reaction to his statements would have been "lively."
The quote by the Pope was not well chosen and inflammatory. Some Muslims (and I stress some) over-reacted, but overall the result will probably be more dialogue.
No, Muslims are not hateful, nor are they looking for reasons to kill Christians. Not any more than Christians are hateful and are looking for reasons to kill Muslims.

The Muslims are responsible for the Muslims getting upset with the Pope. Talk about intolerant, they say what they want about other religions and then go ballistic if someone offers an opinion on their beliefs, even if that opinion is over 700 years old. The whole bunch needs to have a Coke and a smile
