For the education requirements to become an appraiser in Florida, you'll want to contact the Florida Divison of Real Estate - Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board. Ask them for a list of education providers that they accept for appraisal licensing.

If you haven't started your education yet, you should be aware that the minimum education requirements for appraisal licenses will be changing *nationwide* effective January 1, 2008. For more details, visit:

I personally prefer Appraisal Institute classes (http://www.appraisalinstitute.com/). They're taught by experienced appraisers who know the coursework and I know for a fact that they are making steps to comply with the new education requirements. In addition, most students are in the appraisal field and it is a great way to network. Appraisal Institute classes may cost a bit more than other appraisal courses, but I personally feel it is well worth it for the quality and networking opportunities. I think Florida accepts Appraisal Institute classes, but you should check with the Florida RE Appraisal Board to be on the safe side.

Yes, contact Bert Rodgers School of Real Estate. I have used them for over 17 yrs. You can find out how to become an appraiser in Florida on the Department of Regulation website. I am not currently living in Florida, but still hold an active real estate license. I understand that in Florida you have to work under a certified appraiser for a period of years. Good Luck!

I don't know why some people think EVERYTHING is on the Internet.

If you really want to know, then Tampa has some excellent LIBRARIES... those are big buildings filled with things called "BOOKS" and there are people called "LIBRARIANS" who can help you do the research for what you want.

You can also contact the Tampa Bay Realtor's Association... with your knowledge of real estate appraising I'm sure they will immediately give you a license.
