Yes it does affect to some extent because it's difficult to pin down the feritility time. I had the same problem. After i got my period regulated, i concieved easily. Please go to a doctor and take treatment immediately. Sometimes it also could be polycystic ovaries(which is nothing to worry about) i had this problem and i unneccasarily delayed going to the doctor thinking it will become alright on its own. And that wasted a lot of my time in getting pregnant. Once i took medicine to regulate my periods i concieved easily. In fact i have twins! It's hereditary in my family
Good luck and let me know if i can help with any other information.

It may be more difficult to tell when your ovulating if your periods are irregular, and therefore more difficult to plan the best times to conceive. As far as carrying a child, irregular periods should have no effect on the baby once you're pregnant. There are conditions other than irregular ovulation that can cause irregular periods that might, so be sure and discuss any concerns with your doctor.

To certain extent, irregular periods affect chances of pregnancy. Better consult a gyenocologist for a check-up and act accordingly.
