It shouldnt affect your ability to concieve at all. Its more of a worry when cycles are less than 23 days, because its very difficult for menstrual lining, egg release, fertilisation and implantation to all happen in such a short amount of time, which can indicate that something isnt doing its job. One thing that great about irregular cycles is that after pregnancy they often become regular ! Some months it can take longer for the egg to release than other months. The luteal phase of a cycle (after the egg has been released) is usually a very precise 14 days. So if your first cycle was 30 days long you ovulated on day 16 (+14=30) and if your next cycle was 26 days you ovulated on day 12. If you are concerned that you may have trouble identifying the day that you ovulate (because it is different each cycle) you can try charting your temperature or using a home test kit (its like a pregnancy test, but it tests for ovulation instead) or the billings method. Hope this makes sence !

Irregular periods just makes it difficult to time the ovulation because you dont really know when your next cycle is. I have the same problem andhave been trying for the last 6 months. I think that consulting a doctor is a good idea if you are trying to concive. There is no harm in being sure that all is fine. Try and track your Cervical mucus consistency. Egg white means fertile time. Start folic acid. it helps if you are trying to conceive. Some women with a very regular cycle have problems and some women with very irregular cycles have no problem. the doc is the best person who will tell.

Irregular periods will certainly make your ovulation calculations less easy, but learn about your body. Do you feel when you're ovulating? I don't mean the precise moment the egg is released, but the 3 day time-zone surrounding it. Slight bloating, vague period pain, that sort of thing. I feel it every month, but then I am hyper-sensitive with my body.
Funnily enough, the reaction I get from men changes around ovulation as well....like they can sense it. I get MUCH more attention from men around ovulation. I think the skin glows a little bit more, the eyes sparkle, and women must give out some yummy pheremones around that time, too!

Yes. Irregular periods do affect the chances.
It is better you regularise the periods by taking
medicines. Consult a Good Ayurveda Doctor
or a good Gyonocologist. There is nothing to
worry and you will be all right gradually.
