ummm..I have researched and read all sorts of stuff on the illegalation of Cannibus and I honestly do not understand WHY it is illegal? is it b/c SOME people abused(which I find impossible) or is the government making money off it being illegal or what? can ANYONE explain this absurd law!?! I have even read that the lung damage of a person who smoked cannibus for 50 years straight everyday pot head, is only equivalent to a cigarette smoker of 10 ten years!! yet..cigarettes are legal... weird.

You're an aboslute idiot. What the hell is "illegalation" and "cannibus". You say you've done "research" when you can't even spell. Just shut up. Honestly, you're embarrassing yourself.

Actually, here in Colorado it is legal now in Denver for adults over age 18 to privately use and possess an ounce or less of cannabis.

However, having said this...even though it's legal in the city of Denver, it is still ILLEGAL in the state of Colorado to use/possess cannabis. So the state law overrides the city ordinance. Go figure.

In my opinion, it's totally political. They can't tax marijuana like they can tobacco and alcohol. Why would the government legalize something from which they will NOT receive a revenue???

Well, I am sure they don't make laws just to spite people.....so I am sure there is a reason out there. And I'm sure the goverment isn't making money off it being illegal...they would make money off a pack of 20 joints for $20. A better question is why do convicted drug dealers (just the pot dealers, not the scuzzy, ruin peoples life with drugs-dealers) get a higher maximum sentance than a rapist? Effed up, huh?

Because the goverment cannot make money off of it. But if they would stop being so worried about the money and start looking at the fact that the bigger drug probelm in this country is meth and herion and put some of the pot busting effort into the meth and herion side of things then maybe this country wouldn't be so drug induced. Also I would rather have someone driving that was stoned than drunk anyday, yet people can drink freely!!

I have a few friends that smoked the pot for too many years (30+) and for other than "health" reasons, and they are not the same old friends. They have definitely lost more than a few brain cells because of this. Let me also add, a relative of mine kept saying in front of their growing children that "a little pot never hurt anybody". Now their two children have dropped out of high school, stole from their parents and friends to support their habits, been in and out of jails and rehabilitation programs and are still screwed up and with three children of their own that they are screwing up. It does more than affect your health. Think about it.....

Because the government can't figure out how to make money from it.. They have been fighting it for so long, that they cannot appear to give in now after all this time..it's a face saving thing.

because america is full of stupid white people who dont know their **** from their elbow when it comes to matters of health. stupid parents catch their (already) stupid kids smoking marijuana and find the perfect scapegoat.

if you dont believe the war on drugs is all propaganda, think about this.....: when the first push came to criminalize cannabis in the early 20th century, why do you think they used the term "marijuana" instead of "cannabis"? the spanish-american war was not a distant memory, so giving it a mexican name automatically made it a demoic plant that would drive the most timid man to MURDER. its all BS dude, even the Truth commericals or whatever they have in your country.

there is no way for the government to make money on it! they are making so much money on it now they (the government) would lose a lot of money if it were legal. its very easy to grow and they couldn't tax it. its all about money - although here in Ohio its a misdemeanor to have it for personal use, but a felony to sell it.

One of many reasons is because cannabis was used for hemp rope and many other textiles. Plastic business wanted to have supremacy in every applciaiton field, so started to defame cannabis.

The real answer lies in a book called "THE EMPORER WEARS NO CLOTHES" Did you know that anything we make from fossil fuel can be made from hemp? Now how would that offset the balance of power in the world? Hmmmmm,,,,,,,,,
