today I received a violation notice from yahoo saying I insulted other participants. This idiot put gays beneath dogs on a social scale and I am insulting him? Here is the question and my answer:
Question: Is this order correct: Man, Woman, Dog, Gay, Pedophile, Tranny?
Details of Violation: I reported you but first I get your two points. Thanks, moron!

maybe the people who work at yahoo that give violation notices and suspend people's accounts are homophobes themselves. maybe that is why no one gets suspended for insulting us and intruding in our section of yahoo answers.

I understand what you are saying, but sadly Yahoo is an American run company and no doubt has to answer to the more conservative element within the US. You are quite correct in regards to how gays are treated here as opposed to Christians, as many times, Christians have said the most outrageous things and even advocated killing gays in some instances with not a peep from Yahoo, yet let a gay stand up against them and all of sudden the "standards" are enforced. Sad to say, Yahoo does have a somewhat selective view of what a violation is depending on who writes what.

I remember seeing that question posted and I think I might have answered it too? Is there some way YOU could report the guy who asked the question? Send my response along too. Attention Yahoo: I did NOT feel HE insulted anyone. In any case why don't you file a complaint?

That's awful, sweetie! I've been reported too for responding back to idiots like that. I sent Yahoo Answers a respectul, yet terse response and I haven't had another problem since. It's funny how Yahoo can allow folks to spew hate like that, but fine those who "fight back". Don't worry about that, dear. If enough people reported their sorry ***, then I doubt if they'll come back. Cowards always run, boo! Be encouraged.

I remember this and have to agree with you. This person is an idiot. I was very offended at the question, too. I am sorry you got reported. It just seems like certain people can say whatever they want and others cannot respond without getting into trouble. Peace.

I suppose 'moron' is still an insult and you could have made your point without using it and bringing yourself down a bit to his level.
Michael - I've reported someone before for using offensive language and Yahoo! did delete the user's message.

I didn't know Yahoo actually sent out violations. I know they don't do much of a job of deleting hateful, obscene, or insulting messages.
What is the experience of others? Have you actually reported something here, and seen Yahoo take the question (or answer) down?

I've reported hateful questions and answers in the past and they never did anything about them. It's possible that i didn't notice when they deleted them but the whole report thing seems a little useless.

Funny timing... I just signed on partly to see if that guy's questions were removed. I reported him as well as at least a couple others on here. That particular question of his was removed, but a couple others are still there. And, yeh, y/a does not support us much. I've had the same thing happen.
The plan is to not even respond, just report that sick sob.

I had a similar experiences yesterday. My responses were purged as well. Both reversed posted stereotypes about gays to stereotypes about the posters' beliefs. Then THEY have the gall to be offended for starting it.
Jerks.
