I asked a question a while back about how long people thought it would be until the draft was reinstated. I got an excellent response that I hadn't considered: I was told that this would be the one thing that would unite the people against Bush or any other President it would unite Left and Right wing politics against it as well. It would be the straw that breaks the camels back. I don't support the idea of it I think that it is possible that the government may attempt it, but they are smart enough to know that the people will be up in arms. There will be no way to hold them back or keep them under control they will fight their way through the lies and they will not be manipulated with the simple scare tactics the government has always used to whip the people back in line. It may happen one day but not any day soon, the government knows what's good for it, and it won't compromise the power it has in such a frivolous maneuver.

I think all should serve some time in the service and the draft is a good idea but not now with the ego manic in the white house. Maybe they aren't enlisting because they don't want to die so Bush and oil company's can become richer.

If you check the house bills, it is the Dems that were trying to start the draft back up. Rep. Rangel (D-NY) said he wanted it "so white rich boys could die along side our minority brothers." All the sponsors of that bill were Dems.
Bush and the Joint Chiefs issued a statement saying they did not support a draft, they did not need it. There are plenty of people enlisting in the military now. Check your facts...

No I dont support it,& have lived thru draft years ..However,if it means protecting my country (USA) then I deem it necessary..As contradictory as that sounds it is reality...Bush doesnt invite us to be in wars, other war monger countries force us to..We believe in human rights & assuring other countries the same is our duty as a super power..& it reinforces our own safety as a Nation..Terrorists have no place in this world & though it seems like an endless effort it is worth our sacrifices of war to ensure the USA of freedom..

Ask Congress to enlist their sons and daughters, that will make a significant difference. Surely others will follow the example.

And those wars are? If you fecal brained liberals are going to post this nonsense, at least list the wars etc. What we really need is a 500 acre camp in the remotest part of Alaska and then round up all you leftist scum and send you there. We could make it Soviet style so you would feel at home.

Good idea, terror boy.
Here are some facts, that you don't want:
80,000 new recruits have joined since Jan 06.
Two-thirds of all soldiers re-enlist.
Don't worry little boy, there are plenty of strong and brave girls that are joining up that will protect you.
