I am 20 weeks pregnant, and am a little concerned about movement.. Last week, I really felt a lot of baby movement... However, for the past few days, it has really slowed down.. Is it too soon to start worrying about this? I know that most books I've read say that you should start counting fetal kicks after 28 weeks.. I can't help but feel concerned... Anyone in the same boat, that can offer some advice?

If you're being kept up at night because of this, call your doctor. It's not healthy to stress out too much. I've found that it's been normal for me to feel movement and then to not...at this point the baby is so small it doesn't have alot of force, and perhaps you only feel movement when the baby is facing a certain way or is in a certain position.

I remember when I was at that stage in my pregnancy and stressed a lot about baby movements etc.

Someone told me if I was worried to have a really cold drink or put an ice pack on your stomach for a few minutes and usually baby will start kicking like there is no tomorrow lol.

It is normal to feel concerned, so just go to the doctor and let them do a scan to reassure you :)

you're fine, as long as the movement is still there don't worry about it. babies do this allthetime. I feltthe same way w/ my middle child and she was just having a hard time finding room. She was born a month early but weighed in at over 8lbs. You'll start to feel it again more and more as the weeks progress. But as always if you're that concerned, tell your concerns to your OB, that's waht they're there for. They'll help you.

I'm 18 weeks but I had my first ultrasound at 14, and during that time the baby was moving around constantly (though I couldn't feel it). Last week I had another quick ultrasound and the baby was just laying there just wiggling his hands a little. I asked my doctor if it was normal and she said yes, just that they rest and move at different stages. I think you are ok, but if you are really stressed, talk to your doctor. Congrats and good luck.
