I don't know. There is good and bad in all of us and we make conscious decisions to do either, or.

Easy! It's because it's soooooooooooo easy to follow the Bad, and so difficult to do good. Imagine a road, with a lot of traffic stuck on one side, and totally free on the other. The 'smart' person pulls onto the wrong side of the road, and drives on, leaving the 'idiots' to be stuck in traffic. Being stationary in traffic is a conscious choice we make when there is a free road waiting just a few inches away.

My opinion is that being bad or "evil" is much more easier and "fun". I think that the world we live in is geared towards all of the "bad" things so its not that hard to do those things rather than the opposite.
But to follow God or to be good you have to have self control, and discipline...what not. Some people would rather just not fight the temptation and give in.

Poor marketing about the "good" !
The bad needs hardly any advertising. Instant pleasure , like instant coffee, instant food, etc, bad comes in attractive packaging !
Now for a serious answer,..... any refinement calls for some sort of restriction, which ever way you try to look at it !
Refinement, calls for deeper perception & farsightedness as a pre-requisite. Either this good sense has to prevail by itself, or imbibed, inculcated, induced, persuaded, taught, observed etc...
The natural impulses, instincts put blockades, due to poor sense organs ! And hence your correct observation "since time immemorial"

God gave his only begotten son. God established that we were
sinners. So, if everyone was good or perfect then, this would suggest that he i a liar? We know that the Creator doesn't make any mistakes. That's why. He gave his son so that we could be forgiven of our sins. The ultimate sacrifice. There will always be just one more good than bad.

There is just as good as evil. Evil is rampant but open your eyes and you see good people everywhere. I have run into the goodness in people than the evil.
If you define bad or evil then you narrow your outlook. Some of the steorotypical "bad people" became my life line.
