In XP more than one user can be logged on but only one account is active at any one time. Inactive accounts are cached so that when switching users, the account that becomes active again is restored to the condition it was in before switching (applications open, windows sized and so on).

If you mean on Yahoo, maybe that user entered in a checked the "remember me" box. So she's logged on. And then you come along and sign in. Well you erase her info but maybe it's still remembering her. I don't know just a thought, it may not be possible, but maybe. It could be a system quirk.
