How much do you say at an interview when they say tell me about yourself?

Have your answer prepared (in your head) ahead of time. Practice what you will say. Decide what the most important elements of your life are. For example, don't mention that you like knitting unless you are really a whiz at it. You may decide to mention where you grew up, what your family situation is, a few important hobbies and accomplishments, what your educational background is, etc. But don't over-do it. You probably should not speak for more than a minute and a half when you respond to the question.

Depending what the interview is for, u would tell them anything that would be significant to the job. An example; If u were applying for pastor of a church, they would want to know your religious background and education. A welding job-your welding experience. Most will want to know your educational background, how long u were on different jobs, why u left various jobs, etc. Some may even want to know what your hobbies are. applying for a sporting goods sales job?
Tell them what sports u like or are involved in. I don't know what your interview is for, but good luck.

Tell them about your experience for the job you are applying for, what your hobbies are & what volenteering youhave done. This helps the interviewer see if you would make a good employee. To some people the job is just that, a job. what some employers are looking for are people who do a little more then just the job. like fundraising for the companies charty, doing things in the name of the compnay in the local area.I know because I used to do the interviews for my old company. This is what I always looked for.

You want to talk for just under a minute, so tell them where you're from, what school you're going to or just graduated from, what jobs you've done in the past or most recently. You can also add why you would be excited to work for the company you're interviewing with.
