The actual horn-unit shouldn't cost anymore than about £15. The original Ford unit will be held-on by one bolt, and will have one or two electrical contacts that just pull-off, and then just push-on to the new unit.

Are you absolutely sure it's the horn-unit itself? Have you checked the fuse and made sure that hasn't blown? Also, it's worth getting a look at the existing horn unit and making sure that the wires haven't fallen-off/been pulled-off or are just bad contacts.

If you are feeling flash, then you could get a set of air horns from Halfords for about £15, but then you would need someone to fit and wire them correctly, but it isn't a tremendously difficult job for someone with a modicum of DIY sense.

They are very easy to fit - basic diy skills will do.
Cost no more than £10 from independent motor factor and is the same quality as a genuine ford item. It is rare for a horn to go wrong though. First check the basics - fuses?wiring?
Go to the front of the car, open the bonnet and look between the radiator and grille - that is where the horn(round object approx 3 inches diameter) should be. Very clear should be the presence of some wiring. Now investigate where the wiring attaches to the horn and disconnect, spray some wd40, wiggle the connector a bit on/off the horn and finally connect properly. This cures nearly all cases of non-functioning horn. The cause is that the wiring and connectors are exposed to any rain or water whilst driving. Good Luck!

In the neighborhood of $10-15 at your local auto parts store. Generally the horn is held on by just one bolt, - however you have to find it,-and get to it! I don't know this car, but the horn is generally under-(behind) the grille, or in engine compartment towards the front,- probably hidden behind something like the battery, or the aircleaner "entry tube!

Of course are you sure it is the horn itself? Since electrical problems such as broken or unplugged wires or possibly a fused circuit "open", - is anything else not working right? Horn would be on fused circuit with several other things. Some horns have relays between "horn button" and the horn itself too!

Not much - but try a scrap yard that sells parts. They will probably find one and fit it cheaper than a garage in 5 minutes. But try asking someone to connect a light (12 Volt ) where the horn is then press the button for the horn and the light should come on. If it doesn't - it could be your fuse or wiring.

Because of the low current carrying capacity of the contacts on the steering wheel many cars have a relay in the horn circuit. You may like to check this first.
