I don't know what I have recurring dreams of my ex-best friend (and even sometimes with her mom.) I usually have six a year, and just had my recent one last night with her mom. Maybe to resolve unresolved business and to find closure. All we do is talk and pretend the past never happened. Even her mom is nicer to me than before. Does anyone know what it means to have a recurring or even an occuring dream of an ex-best friend when things are better than in real life?

I forgot to mention, that I've tried to contact her in the past, at least to her parents, since I don't have her new address and phone number. Her folks didn't give it to me when they told me she moved, a decade ago. So I don't know how to reach her. And when I did send her parents a letter, I got nothing back in return. Any ideas of contacting her? I've tried Switchboard.com and the Whitepages.com-not listed.

I think you may have a desire to rekindle the friendship -- forgetting about the problems and remembering the good times better than they were will not resolve the problems.

If there is unresolved business that you believe it is necessary to contact her about and she is willing to speak with you, you could give it a whirl unless, of course, she has a restraining order against you. But remember, it is your dream, not hers. Sometimes missing people from our past is indicative of the fact that we are not letting go when, in reality, they have moved on.

I've never had a dream such as yours, but recurring dreams do, as you suggested, often have to do with closure. Among other things, of course. I've kept a dream journal for many years, & in retrospect can see one was a RED FLAG message I ignored. I had recurring dreams about my dad after he died, & only after truly understanding our relationship, & that what I wanted to recover was impossible, did they stop. ZAP. Some dreams are metaphors, with far reater depth, but all dreams are worthy of exploring. I have a feeling that if you could find this friend, the dreams would be over. However. Your details don't show on this page, but as I recall--you have good memories of the past with your friend--it could be different now. Of course that option is up to you. I'd take the risk. & much luck to you!

You may be having the same dream over and over because it is where some where in your sub conscience you wish your relationship with your ex best friend was at. However, it could also be telling you its time to make amends even it doesn’t turn out the way it does in your dream but at least you can have closer on your relationship with this person.

You abviously have some unresoved business with your "ex" friend. A simple phone call would likely give you some closure or fix things, thus making the dreams go away. Your sub conscience has a way of bringing things to the surface that you've pushed down not wanting to deal with. FGive your friend a call. Good luck !

I'm no expert, but maybe it's some kind of thing that you wish happened. Maybe you need closer, or maybe you wished something was different. Keep in mind however that most dreams are shorter than you think they are, and very rarely have a message attached to it. If you think constantly about your ex best friend while you are awake, maybe you should see a specialist.

you miss your friend. Your subconcious is telling you that you miss her and that you have regrets and closed ends on the past. Talk to her about it. See if anything needs to be tied up. If theres something you both missed, that would be a resonable cause of these dream reoccurances. When me and a friend of mine fought, i kept having dreams about her dying. But we sorted things out and the dreams went away.

Our dreams are full of symbolism with their messengers being all different types of people. It is very common to dream about our friends. These are individual that are emotionally valuable to us and we learn about ourselves through them. Dreams are very rarely prophetic, thus whether your dream was good or bad, don't expect it to come true. This dream is more than likely attempting to bring up uncomfortable feelings that you have about yourself or others. (Remember "uncomfortable" does not necessarily mean bad.) Dreams are created by our own thinking processes, our own thoughts (conscious or unconscious) create dreams, thus, the mind that created the dream also knows its meaning!!!
