my pond is about five feet deep it only freezes over not solid i would like to know if i can leave my fish in it this winter they are to big now for the tank i have

You need to have a pond heater in your water. They usually have a thermostat so it doesn't run when it's not needed. It doesn't unfreeze the whole pond but makes a hole in the ice. This is important so oxygen can be available to the fish.

You can get a decent heater at a pond supply company or many L&G centers

Yes you can leave your fish in the pond. The water at the bottom will always remain above freezing point.

you can get an electric aerorator. it just adds air into the water and bubbles come up so that the water doesn't freeze. even if the water doesn't freeze all the way through, how are they going to eat if they can't get to the surface

depends on the fish. if they are some tropical fishes they need warm water if they aren't they can live in the tank.
