Who or what are The C.M.O.N.S.?

There are these characters, stuffed and animated that have 5 members, Moo, Red, Blue, White and Cherri. They are supposedly a band out of Barcelona. They are roaming around here on Yahoo and Blue actually invited me as a friend. I feel really honored. I can't quite figure out what it is all about though. Who are the real people behind the stuffed caricatures? Have they got any real music? Did they really win some music awards?
