What if the boyfriend is not getting a divorce
Girls you do not married the man who was cheating on his wife with you & most of all right after he get his divorce
reasons:
1-you will always wondering if he cheating on you
2-he need time to understand why this M did not work so he can be a better H
3-he will constantly compare you to hi X from cooking to........
4- if their are children they will hate her
What I am trying to say is this your have your girlfriend really knows this guy because dating a married man and dating a free man is not the same thing she should take her time before married him
That is my advice
Tell her Good Luck

The minimum length of time is 6 weeks and 1 day, however in practice you should not apply for the decree absolute until finances have been resolved, ie either the court has sealed a consent order or has made an order at a final hearing.

When my wife divorced me, the decree absolute took about four months to come through. The reason was that she was using my BUPA health insurance, which I get with my job, to have her varicose veins done. To claim on my BUPA required her still to be married to me so she had to delay the application for the decree absolute.
A few days after her final post-op check-up, the decree absolute landed on the doormat.
Charming woman, don't you think?

I agree with the 6 weeks and 1 day. I become divorced back in 2000 and this was the correct at the time... don't ask they the one day when if you don't change your mind in 6 weeks what another day would matter LOL.

It realy all depends fella. If both parties agree. Kind of streight forward. But if one of the two party's involved starts being a bit silly over it. Like not signing the papers. Wich is one of the main problems or disagreeing with what has been siad. etc etc. It can realy drag on. my advise to you his. Get back in touch with the court that was served with the papers. And asks for a progress report. Believe me. They will not get intouch with you about it. Good luck. Hope all goe's well.

6 weeks and 1 day.
If there is a longer delay then check that the Solicitor has actually applied for the Absolute - sometimes they forget or are under the impression they are waiting for instructions to do so!

you must either have a legal seperation or be seperated for one year to file for divorce. once you file and everything is settled (once both sign the papers) it will take one year for it to be final, you will get a paper in that time saying when you will be able to marry again,(when it is completely final). so he should no by now! if he has filed.
